Truth Is Thursday...

Truth is... I'm feeling much better, thanks. Seems to have been a combination of the stomach bug, hormones, and maybe a rogue chicken bone.  <---The verdict's still out on that though.

Truth is.... The boys' basketball teams played against each other on Tuesday night.  It was a really close game, but in the end Youngest and his team pulled it out to win by 5.  As if it wasn't hard enough to deal with the winning/losing aspect, the ex-sister in law came to watch.  Which, honestly is fine by me as long as she's not prying at the band aid. Fine, but weird, since she's never paid them any attention before all this.

Truth is... I asked Oldest if he was okay with her being there and he said, "Yeah, but I wish she'd stop kissing me."

Truth is...  I blew off the whole day Yesterday and did stupid stuff.  I checked out furniture at Lazy Boy, dropped off the ex husband's DVD collection at Savers, picked out paint chips for the sun room, and bought this for myself...
I have no idea why I wanted it, but it makes me happy.  And, I had a Coldwater Creek gift card so it cost me nothing. And neither did the fabulous sweater I bought with the rest of the gift card.

Truth is... I later got ambitious around 3:30 and finished laying the floor in the boy's rooms.  It's coming along, honest.  A picture post is coming...

Truth is... I put an old carpet in the sun room until we can get to the floors, and remarkably it has drastically cut down on the odd smells.  Maybe it's the floor adhesive?

Truth is..  Youngest's head basketball coach's wife is in the hospital.  This means that his adorible blond haired, blue eyed 2 year old daughter is up for grabs during the games.  We can be found clapping from the sidelines, dancing for the team, and playing with our feet since our shoes are on backwards.  I think next week, I'm getting us pom-poms.

Truth is... It's been a pretty uneventful week.  And now it's your turn to share.... write a post and link up!

19 Survival Tips:

  1. I wish she'd stop kissing me, too. And I want to come to the game and have pom-poms. What's the chicken bone story?

    Love,

  3. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I myself have been battling a 2 week head cold-ish thing. Not bad enough for antibiotics (hate taking them) but bad enough to make me feel off and tired. Not a fan.
Sounds like your days off are a LOT more productive than mine are.
Sorry to hear about couch's wife but YAY for playing with adorable little kids...always brightens the day.

  4. I'm so glad you are feeling better. It sucks that the SIL is coming to the games but it's good for the boys to realize they still have ties. I know they are a pain but the other side of the family is still a part of them.I personally hate it when I have to send my kids to my ex's family. As for the game thats rough. Who do you root for? lol Have a great relaxing day lady

  5. Your boys aren't that old, and okay, so Auntie was never around before - but perhaps she is just now realizing that with the death of her brother she has been a less than perfect Aunt and maybe is trying to make up for lost time. I can see it being sucky if they were graduating high school soon or in college, but they are still little. I'd give the woman a chance as long as it doesn't upset the kids. That's just me tho'.

Glad you are feeling better! Although the chicken bone thought makes me shudder to imagine what happened there. I miss the purple slippers tho'. heehee
