Honestly, not a hell of a lot.
Which is good.
I like it that way.
Fall seems to have come to New England, and my blog. Until I can come up with a new stamp that strikes my fancy, y'all are stuck with the fall foliage. Seems that Fall has also come fast and fierce to my yard, which now looks much like a vacant house. The yard's a mess, and the front Maple has left it's leaves everywhere. I was actually thrilled by the sight of falling leaves, as I have a project I've been saving since last year that involves acorns. My hopes were dashed however, as the back Oak's holding onto it's nuts for dear life.
*sigh*
A party seems to have been brewing in my belly all week. By Friday, someone had clearly called the cops and had the patty wagon sent out. As all the occupants of my stomach decided to beat a hasty exit, my weekend was off to a fantastic start. The enormous excitement resulted in my going to bed at 8:32 PM, exactly two minutes after the boys. I don't even remember Tony coming to bed.
Saturday wasn't much better, and after working a full shift, I came home to a full house of couch potatoes. Being the party animal I am, I was in bed by 9:30. I woke a few times, vaguely to respond to one son's face over my bed, and again when Tony came in. I have never been a great sleeper, and often wake several times for general thoughts that run through my head, or a snoring fit turned to choking.
Come morning I couldn't tell you why Oldest was sleeping on the couch, why Bonus Brother's door was left open all night, or why I could remember that at one point in the night, I thought it would be a good idea to have our family Christmas cards done today. But I did.
What was I thinking?
Four boys.
Coordinated outfits.
Sears.
Lord help us all.
After a half hour, we finally emerged with one really good picture of all of us.
Well, one really good picture of four of us.
My hair has had better days,
as I had ripped most of it out.
There was an untimely exit of a party in my stomach Friday night! Must be something going around. Not a fun evening for the hostess, I'll tell you that!
ReplyDeleteLove the new background....now I'm in the mood for Turkey and stuffing!!!!
:)
My body was throwing off ballast last week, migraine/end of PMS week. I know, TMI.
ReplyDeleteBut it just shows I can sympathize, because I know what you're talking about.
Your crazy. Sears on a Saturday, after being sick, with 4 boys in coordinated outfits? You're lucky you looked sane.
ReplyDeleteWhy with digital cameras and the beauty that is Wal Mart auto reprint machines [love those things because you don't actually have to go INTO the store] would anyone brave a Sears or an Olan Mills for a Christmas picture?
Silly rabbit.
Hope we get to see it tho'. :D
"You're" not your. I can spell. Just tired.
ReplyDeleteStephanie & Ami - Lord do I know it. Not sure if I was just fighting off something or ate something I shouldn't have, but what ever it was, it was not good.
ReplyDeleteSkippy - It was actually Sunday afternoon. My epiphony to do it came during sleep on Saturday night. Must have been a dilusional dream.
And there is a beautiful thing about those machines. However, I can not figure out how to sucessfully edit ME into the picture, since I am always the one taking the photo.
That, and I had a coupon. One that gave us about $50 worth of photos for free. Frame them up, and you have two instant Christmas presents.
And YES. you'll get to see.
We haven't quite hit the fall weather yet, so I can still wear my midriff wearing tops to work.
ReplyDeleteI want some fall...
ReplyDeleteOh how I long for the leaves to turn golden and for there to be a chill in the air...
But that is just me.
Meanwhile, I will go to the beach and sit under a palm tree....
Yeah, someone has got to do it!
Have a great day darling... Marriage is good on you!
Love ya, Lisa
It was 40 degrees here this morning which is crazy cold for this time of year but I am not complaining. I love fall!
ReplyDeleteI finally gave up on the whole formal Christmas photo thing. It doesn't seem to work out in my favor!
LOL! it can be so hard getting good family pictures. We tried to get one with forty-four people in it last summer. Someone always managed to close their eyes ;)
ReplyDeleteI take a bunch of candids in the months of October and November then go to my Kodak Gallery website to create my own cards for Christmas. It has resulted in the regrowth of most of my hair. LOL!
ReplyDeleteSears on Saturday sounds a little crazy but at least you will be really happy after Thanksgiving when it's time to send the cards out and yours are done!
ReplyDeleteThe stomach party sounds all to familiar and there is no particular cause...stress, maybe? Stress is a constant--albeit unwanted--companion of mine.
ReplyDeleteYou are waaaaaaaay ahead of me on Christmas cards, but you have inspired me to get off my bum and take care of those. Just hope the odds of getting off my bum aren't nearly as bleak as they seem at this moment.
I'm always the one who looks weird in pictures. I'm simply not photogenic, which is a euphemism for not terribly attractive. But I'm funny and witty and read Chaucer in Middle English and love my Milton! There's an upside to not being the best-looking person in the room.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lola
That oak tree of yours must be male, what with being so stingy with its nuts and all.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon and please try to stop partying so much.
